21 years of Common

On October 6, 1992, Common, then known as Common Sense, released his debut album, Can I Borrow A Dollar?. Produced entirely by No I.D (then called Immenslope), The Beatnuts and Twilite Tone; the album was a chart topper in any means. But it did introduce the world to Common.

Hell On Wheels

AMC may be in the shadows of HBO's praise, but when you think about quality TV series', you better start adding AMC to your thought process. Tonight (Nov 6), AMC will debut its latest series; Hell On Wheels.

Starring Anson Mount & Common, Hell On Wheels takes place in the 1860s, at the beginning of Reconstruction. The series follows Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount), a former Confederate soldier, who is determined to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who murdered his wife. His quest for vengeance sends him westward to Nebraska's "Hell on Wheels," the lawless town that moves with the construction of the transcontinental railroad.

March 13th is Chicago MC, Common's birthday. To celebrate his 37th birthday, psychology digs in the vaults & airs his acclaimed DITR: The Common Session; playing tonight (march 12th) at midnight on K103.

The Diamond In The Rough: The Common Session

Common's much delayed 8th studio album finally sees the light of day on Tuesday, December 9th. Originally titled Invincible Summer, Universal Mind Control is heavily produced by The Neptunes (70% of the tracks are produced by Chad & Pharell) & has been descirbed as "electro-tinged" and "techno-inspired."
If you have seen Common on tour lately, you may have heard a few of the new songs of the album. The new stuff sounds good and fills in the missing "fun" songs from his catalog of music. The Chicago MC is still hard at work both in the booth and on screen. His next role will be in Terminator Salvation, which comes out in May 2009.

Common / N*E*R*D* Concert at Metropolis

Common & N*E*R*D take the stage in Montreal at Metropolis tonight. This marks the 3rd return of N*E*R*D to Montreal in less than 6 months; and Common's first visit to Montreal since his last stop here prior to the release of Be. Tickets are still available.

Christian Bale & Common in Terminator Salvation

Set for release on May 29, 2009; Terminator Salvation is the 4th film in the Terminator series.
The film will be directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol and will star current Batman star, Christian Bale (aka my favorite American Psycho), Helena Bonham Carter & Common. Yes; that is not a typo: Common.
Common's filmography is becoming quite stacked these days and with his inclusion in this film it only means he is going to have more roles coming his way.
The film, set in 2018, focuses on the original war between humanity and the Terminator computer network Skynet.
