Happy Birthday Stevie Wonder



Happy Birthday to Stevie Wonder! May 13, 2013 marks the 63rd birthday of the singer/songwriter. A prominent figure in popular music during the latter half of the 20th century, Wonder has recorded more than thirty U.S. top ten hits and won twenty-two Grammy Awards (the most ever won by a solo artist) as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also been inducted into both the Rock and Roll and Songwriters halls of fame. Rolling Stone named him the ninth greatest singer of all time. In 2009, Wonder was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace. In 2008, Billboard magazine released a list of the Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists to celebrate the US singles chart's fiftieth anniversary, with Wonder at number five.

Talking Book Celebrates 40 Years



On October 28, 1972; Stevie Wonder released his 5th studio album, Talking Book. ranked number 90 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, Talking Book helped destroy the myth that R&B artists were incapable of creating music that could be appreciated by rock audiences, and marked a unique period for R&B artists.

Wonder won three awards for Talking Book at the 1974 Grammys: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for You Are the Sunshine of My Life, and both Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song for Superstition.

The Diamond In The Rough: The Stevie Wonder Session



For a long time, there has been discussions and requests to put together a Stevie Wonder mix. I just was waiting for the stars to align and provide the right opportunity to create this project.

The stars have aligned and with Talking Book celebrating its 40th anniversary in the next few days, there isn't a better moment to release The Diamond In The Rough: The Stevie Wonder Session.

Tonight (midnight),K103 radio will debut psychology's 200th DITR mix. A tribute to one of the most creative musical figures of the late 20th century. He has recorded more than thirty U.S. top ten hits and received twenty-two Grammy Awards, the most ever awarded to a male solo artist. He is number 5 on Billboard's Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists.
