With the birthday & death of "your favorite producer's favorite producer" this week, it only seems fitting to pay tribute to J. Dilla (aka Jay Dee). The sounds of Dilla were magical and inspiring to not only mild mannered bloggers / DJs like myself but some of his biggest fans were his peers like,?uestlove, Common, Erykah Badu, Pharrell & many more.

In 2006, upon hearing the news of the death of Dilla,psychology humbly put together which has since become one of the most regarded episodes of DITR; The Diamond In The Rough - The J. Dilla Tribute. psychology digs in the archives and posts this special episode of DITR for you to download, enjoy & share.

The Man In The Mirror

With the 25th annversary of Thriller having just passed, there is a lot of hype around the now confirmed anniversary re-issue of MJ's "Thriller" in 2008 which will also feature remixes of some of the hit songs by Kanye, Will.I.Am and others.

Mark Ronson & Chi-City's Rhymefest flipped the script and put together a "tribute" mix tape to MJ. Its crazy.. dope & hilarious at the same time.. Check out Rhymefest accusing MJ of breaking wind while recording.

Popping My Blog Cherry

So this is it.... psychology has a blog. So where to go from here? Write about music? Shoes? The Presidential race?

How about like psychology, there are no rules to the blog? Isn't that the point of these things anyway? To voice your viewpoints & opinions?
I can't promise the most intriguing blog or a blog that will follow a set schedule, but I can promise that you will get to know psychology a little bit better through the words and links on this page.
So why not get things started with a tribute to James Brown. The hardest working man in show biz.
James Brown passed away on Christmas, 2006. He left a legacy that can never be repeated. He was the Godfather of Soul and the catalyst for SOOOO many hip hop samples. Upon hearing of his passing, I thought it would only be right to put a tribute session together so that old fans can remember and new fans can learn how great James Brown really was.
