Doc: A Memoir

It's no secret that I'm a Mets fan, thanks to growing up witnessing their World Series win in 1986. Gary Carter, Mookie Wilson, Darryl Strawberry, Keith Hernandez and of course the Doc; Dwight Gooden. Despite his legal & drug issues of the field, Dwight Gooden was one of the most dominant and feared pitchers in the National League in the middle and late 1980s.

Raptors vs. Knicks in MTL

For the first time EVER, Montreal welcomes the Raptors to the Bell Centre. There's one more week until the 2010-2011 NBA season kicks off, and the Raptors are still in tuning mode; but so is the rest of the league..
Tonight (Oct 22) the raptors will compete against the New York Knicks in front of a Montreal crowd; many who have never had the chance to see an NBA game live before.

Short Track Speed Skating World Cup in MTL

This weekend, the Maurice Richard Arena is home to the World Cup of Short Track Speed Skating. If you've never seen short track speed skating, this is your chance. Full of bumps & spills, it is considered the Roller Derby of Olympic sports.

Canada takes on the world & psychology will be there providing musical inspiration all weekend long. Come check it out.

psychology @ Red Bull's Monte/Descend

This past weekend, psychology was invited back into the mountain bike world after a lengthy hiatus from the bike industry. This time I was there as a "spectator" and not actually racing. (That career didn't blossom too well, but I did learn a lot and got to ride in a bunch of cool places across Canada)
Red Bull's inaugural Monte/Descend race took place at Tremblant this past weekend, during the Canada Cup Mountain Bike races. The event, which consisted of 22 teams of 1 downhill rider & 1 X-Country athlete, was a 2 hour marathon race, with the winner(s) being the team that was able to pull of the most laps in the 2 hour time frame.
Now add the fact that the race took place from 8-10 pm as rider had to adjust to the lack of light as night fell in Northern Quebec.
Spectators were not only treated to the race, but psychology was on hand to provide beats for the crowd & racers. Once the race was over, Red Bull took over Café D'Époque in the Village of Tremblant for their after party. psychology once again provided the beats for another crazy Red Bull event which had bodies dancing and drinks flowing all night long.

This is LONG overdue, as these items arrived for me back in late Fall; but it's been a bit hectic around here, and to be honest, the snow hadn't fallen yet, so snowboarding was not at the forefront of my thoughts. Now the snow has been in Montreal for a while now, and it's officially been winter for a couple weeks; so hopefully this winter I can get out a few times like last year and do some damage on the hills. And thanks to Dan & Chris @ K2, I will be riding on new hardwear this year!!


It's no secret that I am a fan of the Mishka brand. When I heard that Mishka & K2 were joining forces on the 2009 Jibpan, I HAD to have this board. Luckily I have friends in the right places who were able to make this possible.
Teh Jibpan is K2's top freestyle board. It features harshmellow technology, a wood/honeykomb WH4 core and integrates a longer effective edge with shorter nose and tail, allowing you to drop down 5 cm in board size without losing the stability of a longer board. In other words perfect for stomping anything in your path, or whatever path you choose.

Shoot To Thrill Montreal with psychology

Shoot To Thrill is a film & photo contest, organized by Red Bull. Participants had 72 hours to shoot, edit & upload a 3-5 minute clip focused on skateboarding & skate culture. The finalists have been chosen & its now down to the 10 final teams to battle it out for the title of Shoot To Thrill 2008 champion & a cool $8000.
The Montreal premier takes place this weekend, at Cabaret Juste Pour Rire, with psychology providing the musical backdrop for the night. As the nights gets colder, Red Bull & psychology provide some heat with the Montreal premiere of Shoot To Thrill 2008

Remembering Don Wittman: (October 9, 1936 – January 19, 2008)

With qualifications beginning for the Men's 100 meter sprint at the Summer Olympics in Bejing, there doesn't seem to be a better time to remember one of Canada's most respected sports broadcaster, Don Wittman.
Among Don Wittman's LONG list of historical broadcasts; is one of the most memorable moments in Olympic & Canadian history: His call of the men's 100 Meter sprint in Athens (1996).
