Digable Planets concert in MTL

Last night, (Oct. 9th), the New York based, grammy award winning, Digable Planets performed at Les Saints in Montreal to a small but receptive crowd rehashing high school memories for yours truly of Blowout Comb in my walkman & hunting the City for the Rebirth Of Slick 12"..
Butterfly, Ladybug Mecca & Doodlebug hit the stage, backed by DJ Jedi and captured the crowd with their Jazz influenced beats & poetic lyrics.
Although the crowd was small, DP kept the crowd rocking throughout the whole show.
Check their myspace page for tour schedules and peep these guys when they are in your hood.

I wanted to write this not to review the show, but hopefully to get you to feel the need to do some homework & listen to these guys. Although not a huge commercial success, Blowout Comb remains one of my favorite albums of all time, as does the grammy award winning, Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat) from their debut album, Reachin (A New Refutation of Time and Space)
Now I know from experience finding Reachin' on CD isnt easy, as most stores don't carry their discography. I'm not one to post peoples albums to download, when hunting for them online or in stores is part of the dying art of Digging In The Crates; but I feel these albums are too important to be ignored..
So here they are for you to download... Open your ears, your mind & listen to what hip hop was..
