My Favorite Songs of 2010

Before, during & after one of the many hockey games I watch, my homie Chris & I got into a discussion of what our picks were for 2010. We discussed a lot of movies, album & of course songs. So I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorites songs that dropped in 2010. Here they are in no particular order:

Let's start with the obvious. It's no secret that I think Kanye is a musical genius. Put aside the ego & all the bullshit and you have the best producer in music since Pete Rock. It's hard to pick just one song from Kanye as My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is easily my my favorite album of 2010. But I'll go with the song that started G.O.O.D. Fridays and is just a killer anthem.

Last year they dropped aNYway which blew my mind. This year Duck Sauce had my vote again for club track of the year with this joint..

Its hard to say what I like more. this song or the HBO series, How To Make It In America, that used this as their title track. This song had me scrambling through my old Bill Withers collection to see where they found this. To my surprise, this was not a classic soul song that they blew the dust off, but the soulful voice of realtively unknown, Aloe Blacc

OK I admit it. This may not be on some of you more hipster DJs lists of 2010. But simply put; this is what Pop music should sound like, or maybe I'm still in awe over her boobage in her appearance on SNL.

This song may not have gotten the attention in the clubs like Barbra Streisand or We No Speak Americano; but this track had my fist pumping and wanting to play tennis... Not to mention that Martina Sorbara's voice on this track was so easy to love.

Where to start... Fab? Kanye? or the shedding of the G-Unit skin of Lloyd Banks... This track was hands down my pick for posse cut (if you can still call them that) of the year. Kanye KILLS it and made us all want to be Pyjama rich..

I know this song is a joke, but once you put Akon on the hook, its catchy no matter what the point of the song is.

No lyrical mastery here, but the beat is hella catchy & on the remix, Jermaine Dupri's verse is mos def from a DJs point of view.

And I thought the only thing that came out of Pittsburgh was Penguins & Pirates.. T-Pain delivers such a great verse on this that it had me fiending for a new T-Pain album..

Somebody please sign this dude to a major label. Hands down the most underrated MC in the game.

The latest album from The Roots may have flown under the radar, but it was a masterpiece, which included this gem...

And last but not least, we have Ricky Ross.. This song could make anyone feel like a gangsta.. I just have one question. Who is Larry Hoover?
