The Diamond In The Rough: The Mobb Deep Session

On April 25th 1995, the world was haunted by the sophmore album from Queens duo, Mobb Deep. The Infamous painted a dark portrait of inner city life, crime & poverty. The production by Havoc redefined the sound coming out of the East Coast from upbeat and jazz-influenced; into raw, gritty, stripped-down minimalist beats.

Most noted for Shook Ones Part II, the album is considered to be a cornerstone of New York hardcore rap. The Infamous was selected as one of The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums. It also found its way on to Blender magazine's 500 CDs You Must Own Before You Die in 2003 and Vibe's 51 Albums representing a Generation, a Sound, and a Movement in 2004.

Tonight (April 29) psychology pays tribute to Mobb Deep & The Infamous with The Diamond In The Rough: The Mobb Deep Session, airing at midnight on K103 Radio
